Designed by award-winning Gaia Architects specialising in healthy buildings, 'The New Log Cabin' faces south over a half-acre lawn on the shore of Loch Tay.

Built in 1996 it is furnished to a high standard and has fitted carpets and electric heaters in all rooms as well as a log burning stove in the sitting area.

The high sloping ceilings, large double glazed windows and glass in the verandah roof make the house unusually warm, light and spacious.

Its unique picturesque setting is ideal for people seeking a quiet, relaxing, holiday. Hillwalkers and cyclists have endless choices of scenic routes. Local wildlife includes roe deer, red deer, red squirrels, pinemartens, otters and ospreys.

Fishing is available on the loch and surrounding rivers.

Golfers can choose from over 30 golf courses within an approximate 40 mile radius of Killin, the closest being Killin Golf Course one mile away.

Those wishing to explore the area will find an abundance of historic sites, castles and cathedrals. There are over 40 such places worthy of a visit within a 40 mile radius of Killin.

Killin is on the edge of the Trossachs National Park, 20 miles from Loch Lomond, 30 miles from Pitlochry, 35 miles from Stirling, 40 miles from Perth and 50 miles from Oban on the west coast.

Accommodation:

BEDROOMS:

One double bedroom with chest of drawers and hanging space.

One family room with single (or double on request) bed and bunk beds. En suite shower and wc.

KITCHEN:

The kitchen is fully fitted with pine units, electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge, dishwasher, electric kettle, coffee maker, etc. There is a washer-drier and freezer in the 'welly-boot room'.

LIVING ROOM:

The living room is open-plan, warm and comfortable with magnificent views over Loch Tay. There are sofas, a television with video and DVD player, and a CD/cassette player. The dining table seats six.

A wood burning stove (logs supplied).

Double glass doors open onto the lawn which extends to the edge of the Loch Tay.

BATHROOM:

Bathroom with bath, wc, wash basin and shaver point.

WELLY-BOOT ROOM:

There is a triangular room near the front door for outdoor clothing, boots, fishing rods, etc. It leads into a small wc with wash basin. This is handy for chldren in too much of a hurry to take their boots off!

SERVICES:

The price includes bed linen, electricity and logs.

The distance to the nearest shop is 1 mile.

The New Log Cabin is ideal for children. There is play equipment and a large lawn for ball games

At the edge of the lawn, the shore is a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its abundance of rare native plant species.

No smoking or dogs.
