Bettyhill Beach   Beechwood Cottage

The small village of Tongue looks west over the Kyle of Tongue. Castle Varrich on the nearby hilltop, Ben Hope ~ Scotland's most northerly Munro and Ben Loyal ~ "Queen of Scottish Mountains", provide dramatic backdrops.

It is ideally placed to allow touring to the east, west and south.

Beechwood Cottage has private parking and front and rear access with gardens including secluded lawn area offering al-fresco relaxation.

The cottage's one level layout allows stress-free living with space to relax.

The property is double glazed, fully heated and very comfortably furnished to meet individual or family needs.

The quiet location is popular and attracts lovers of the outdoors throughout the year.

Hill walkers, beachcombers, naturalists and fishers can march, wander, twitch and cast without repetition.

The historian, geologist, photographer and artist too find opportunities beyond dreams in the rugged peace of the far northwest Highlands.

Sutherland and neighbouring Caithness, reveal much from prehistoric times: the Viking influence, the troubled and turbulent times of the Highland clearances with underlying folklore, and Gaelic culture.

Local museums offer insights into the clans, the crofting and seagoing activities with many archaeological sites in the surrounding glens and straths giving proof of the strength and heritage of the Northern Scots.
